Virtues
I remember my father saying humility is the greatest virtue.
I don't think so. I think patience is. May be the greatest virtue changes. Or may be we call that the greatest virtue which teaches us the most.

yes i agree.. the greatest virtue is wat teaches us most.. but at the same time it takes us an entire life to sum up our experiances and decide wat the greatest virtue is..
so we decide and pass it to others.. only to know life doesn't treat two people same..

there is no greatest virtue, each day has a different cause and a differeb=nt virtue that dominates it. Life is a learning process and each day you discover the finer points of your character.

The greatest virtue would have to be honesty according to me, as its the toughest to practise.
Dont you think it varies from individual to individual?

@mrinalini - Yes, we take a lifetime to figure it out and then pass it on... just that at times something entirely different makes sense to that person... suffice to say, whether the greatest virtue is the same or not for two people is a half chance, like everything else in life.
@dreamyeyes - what I meant when I coined that phrase was, as I said, what has the maximum contribution in building who you are. Sure, they change... and thankfully so. For that is the only way you know you are not stuck in a rut in life.
@bare - Hello, welcome. Sure makes you wonder, it does!
@ron - to each his/her own, ron...
@chinks in the armour - of course it varies from person to person... which is why it's such a delight to keep meting new people as you learn about so many dimensions of the human character.
